It is often forgotten or ignored, that the regular maintenance of diving equipment can be lifesaving. You should not have to wait until the regulator makes strange noises or strange responses. You should not ignore that the inflator sometimes jams a little bit or there is somewhere some air escaping. You should check frequently and review it, because such small errors,  actually can be life-threatening.

MARES and all the other brands are recommending the regular maintenance of the equipments. BCDs and regulator should be maintained in order to ensure the safety and longevity at least once a year or every 100 dives.
